Basic Firearms 1

 Approximately 4-hour course including 2.5-hours of class time and 1.5-hours of range drills. Class portion will include self-defense firearms basics (universal safety rules, understanding and choosing a handgun, care and storage), defensive shooting fundamentals (defensive shooting vs marksmanship, proper grip, unsighted firing, sighted firing, trigger control), and types of gear (holsters, belts and accessories). Range exercises will focus on developing skills discussed during classroom portion including but not limited to grip, trigger control, presentation, reloading and malfunction clearing.

Required materials include firearm and minimum 200 rounds of ammunition.

Concealed Carry

Concealed Carry: Approximately 4-5 hour course including 3.5 hours of classroom and 1.5 hours of range drills. Class portion including developing a personal and home protection plan, self-defense firearms basics, defensive shooting fundamentals, discussion of legal use of force, discussion of violent encounters and their aftermath, and types of gear. Range exercises will focus on developing skills discussed during classroom portion including but not limited to grip, trigger control, presentation, reloading and malfunction clearing.

Required materials include firearm, magazine pouch, and strong-side holster or a concealed carry holster.

Basic Firearms 2

​

Will cover topics in Basic Firearms 1 with additional drills drawing from a holster, weak and strong hand shooting, shooting from cover and/or concealment.

Required materials include firearm and minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition, holster and magazine pouch. Must have prior experience before taking course.
